6 More Training & Nutrition Myths (That Hold You Back)

7. "You Need to Feel Sore for a Workout to Be Effective"

Truth: Soreness is not a reliable indicator of progress. You can build muscle with little soreness, and you can be extremely sore and not progress at all. What to do instead: Track strength going up, better form, and more reps over time.

8. "More Workouts = Better Results"

Truth: More is not better… better is better. Overtraining means fatigue, plateaus, and hormone drops. Recovery is where progress actually happens. What to do instead: Train hard, recover hard, repeat.

9. "You Have to Cut Out Fats to Lose Body Fat"

Truth: Dietary fat is critical for hormones (especially testosterone), brain function, and recovery. Cutting fats too low means worse results. What to do instead: Keep healthy fats in (avocado, eggs, olive oil, fatty fish).

10. "You Need Supplements to See Real Results"

Truth: Supplements are just that—supplemental. They help 5–10%; nutrition plus training is 90–95%. What to do instead: Nail protein intake, whole foods, and consistency, then layer supplements if needed.

11. "If the Scale Isn't Dropping, Nothing Is Working"

Truth: The scale can lie—especially when you're building muscle, holding water, or recovering from hard training. Body composition beats body weight. What to do instead: Track the mirror, measurements, strength, and how clothes fit.

12. "You Have to Be Perfect to Get Results"

Truth: Perfection is the fastest way to fail. Results come from consistency, not perfection. What to do instead: Think 80–90% dialed in, repeated daily. That's how real transformations happen.

Bottom Line

Most people don't need a new plan… they need to stop believing bad information. Master the basics and results follow.
