Don't Fall for the BS Part 2!
Last week, we talked about all the health food lies. This week, we are giving you some examples. Avoid these!

10 “Healthy” Foods to Avoid
1. Veggie Straws
Most are just potato starch and corn flour with a tiny amount of vegetable powder for color. Nutritious equivalent: potato chips with better marketing.
2. Agave Nectar
Marketed as "low glycemic," but it is often 70–90% fructose—higher than high-fructose corn syrup. Reality: it's a metabolic disaster for your liver.
3. "Heart Healthy" Cereals
Often loaded with 10–20g of added sugar and highly processed grains. Reality: a sugar spike and crash before 10:00 AM.
4. Ezekiel Bread (for some)
While better than white bread, it's still a dense source of carbohydrates that can spike insulin. Reality: better, but not a "free food" for weight loss.
5. Plant-Based Meats
Many are ultra-processed blends of seed oils, soy protein isolate, and stabilizers. Reality: a chemistry experiment, not a health food.
6. Fruit Juice
Stripped of fiber, leaving only the sugar. Your body treats it almost exactly like soda. Reality: liquid sugar that bypasses satiety signals.
7. Protein Bars
Most are just glorified candy bars with whey protein added and high amounts of sugar alcohols. Reality: check the label—if it has 20+ ingredients, put it back.
8. Fat-Free Yogurt
When they take out the fat, they usually add sugar or thickeners to fix the taste. Reality: fat provides satiety; sugar provides a belly.
9. Granola
Deceptively high in calories, seed oils, and honey/syrup. Reality: extremely easy to overeat; more like a dessert than a breakfast.
10. Oat Milk
Essentially "grain juice" that causes a massive glucose spike for many people. Reality: high in starch and often contains inflammatory rapeseed oil.
